About the Park

Yosemite National Park is a United States National Park spanning eastern portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in the central eastern portion of the U.S. state of California, commonly referred to as Northern California. The park, which is managed by the National Park Service, covers an area of 747,956 acres and reaches across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain chain. Over 3.7 million people visit Yosemite each year most spend the majority of their time in the seven square miles (18 km2) of Yosemite Valley. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs

    Yosemite offers various campsites with some needing reservations. Yosemite Valley: Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines, Camp 4 South of Yosemite Valley: Wawona, Bridalveil Creek, North of Yosemite Valley: Hodgon Meadow, Crane Flat, Tamarack Flat, White Wolf, Yosemite Creek

    Yosemite offers from simple tent cabins at the High Sierra camps to deluxe rooms at The Ahwahnee.


    Park Hours & Fees

    The Yosemite National Park is open 24 hours. Yosemite National Park is proposing to increase entrance fees into the park. The single vehicle entrance fee would change from $20 to $30 for a seven day pass. The park's annual pass would increase from $40 to $60
